CHUM Monika

An outstanding graduate from Norton University, Monika left the university with a broad knowledge of business administration, especially an excellent knowledge of accounting and marketing. Therefore, Monika joint a garment factory as a Personnel and Administrative Coordinator where, after a few years, she brings in enough hands-on experience to make herself qualified as an HR and Administrative Manager for another employer, Wayburn Investment Group.

Prior to that, Monika also used to work as a Qualitative Data Analyst at Indochina Research Limited, the leading marketing research firm in Cambodia, plus some event management projects, these experiences established the foundation for her current position at Total Cambodge. She is presently the Marketing and Communications Manager at Total Cambodge. HOUT Chan Thoeun
BSS Engineer, Camshin Co., Ltd.


An electronic-like person, Thoeun chose to specialize in the field of Electrical and Electronic Engineering after leaving his senior high school. Thoeun selected Norton University to fulfill his requirements. At university, Thoeun spent a great amount of time doing research on both new technology and psychology. As per his clarification, psychology is important if you want to be a leader or a businessperson one day. You will need to have a good knowledge of psychology to win people to your way of thinking.

With growing skills and knowledge in both his specialization and human relations, Thoeun joint INS Global Trading Company as an Assistant to Manager shortly after leaving the university in 2005. Next, Thoeun left INS Global Trading Company for Camshin Company after about half a year. Presently he is BSS Engineer at Camshin Company Ltd. Thoeun speaks Chinese, English and Khmer fluently.

MENG Ngy
Territory Development Manager-R5, Angkor Beverage Company


Meng Ngy, a soft speaking personality along with his enthusiasm in others’ achievements, he has built and retained a long list of friends. As an outstanding graduate from Maharishi Vedic University, Ngy joint Indochina Research Limited mid of 2002. There he built quite a few credentials as a Field Research Supervisor. Next, he moved to K-Line Company as a Marketing Executive and later he was invited to be a Territory Development Manager-R5. His career moved from a Marketing Research Supervisor to a Sales Manager. Presently, he is the Territory Development Manager-R5 at Angkor Beverage Company.

A person filled with pleasing personality, Ngy learned and gained a lot from others by being available at others’ requirements. This is not at all different from a saying that “if you want to make more, you must give more.” Give more to make more for yourself. Being open and down-to-earth makes yourself more friends. That way he wins friends and people to his way of thinking. That should be the main rationality behind his current position at Angkor Beverage Company.

NGO Natharoun
Project Officer for GSB Initiative, UNDP


Prior to working in Cambodia, after graduating from an MBA in Paris, Natharoun previously spent 5 years as a consultant and project manager with Ernst & Young Consulting – later CapGemini. Within the Accelerated Solutions Environment department of this leading business consulting group he was responsible for supporting organizations implementing change management processes and redevelop new strategies, through innovative learning tools and specific methodologies, consulting and training techniques. Natharoun spent one year as the Country Administrator in Cambodia for Médecins Sans Frontières, where he was responsible for the mission budget, human resources, logistics and support to local partner NGOs. Then he collaborated for a year with Emerging Markets Consulting, a regional private sector development and business consulting firm, as a consultant.

Most Recently, Natharoun joined the UNDP, as a Project Officer for the GSB (Growing Sustainable Businesses) initiative. The GSB initiative fosters and facilitates private sector sustainable investment that address grass-roots market segment. The targeted end-results are business driven solutions that enable, accelerate and sustain access by the poor to needed good & services and/or livelihoods opportunities. .

NUON Pichsophal
Assistant to President & Public Relations Manager,
Phnom Penh Chamber of Commerce


As an inquisitive student, Pichsophal started working as a receptionist anadministrator at the same time as she started her university. With her outgoing and down-to-earth personality, Pichsophal collected good experience as a receptionist and administrator roughly for two years at the Institute for Development of Education and Agriculture. With that experience, Pichsophal joint Phnom Penh Chamber of Commerce as a Project Assistant where her typical day was seen busy with communicating with SMEs, local and international partners, organizing meeting sessions, and press conferences etc.

Until 2005, when she also graduated her Bachelor of Business Administration, she was promoted as Assistant to President and Public Relations Manager at Phnom Penh Chamber of Commerce. Holding this position, she was involved with similar activities including exposing herself abroad to a few training courses to familiarize herself with SMEs and its related context to development. Becoming more mature and along with her experience and ability in managing similar tasks, she has been authorized to make quite a lot of decisions on activities involved with her job presently. SAY Sony
Marketing Manager, PRASAC MFI


A mature and pleasing personality, Sony is renowned for his sense of humor expressing in a soft way. You may find yourself uncomfortable if you do not feel you find him interesting and respectful. Learning with a habit of active listening and participations along with teaching, Sony has developed great skills in acquiring and expressing knowledge in a way that people are willing to accept – skills mostly required as a wise leader.

As a top student from Maharishi Vedic University, Sony joint Khmera organization as an Assistant to Director. About two years after his university, Sony found that the time has moved onto new challenges. As a graduate in marketing field, Sony then moved to 141 Worldwide in Cambodia for a short-term project to get into dept of what the advertising or brand marketing field was. Credentials he gained from being a short-term project supervisor at 141 Worldwide allowed him to have access to a career at PPML as a Marketing Executive more than a year. After, Sony saw an opportunity that he has been building his credentials along the way for; that is, Chief of Marketing at PRASAC MFI. He was promoted to be a Marketing Manager of PRASAC MFI in Cambodia.

SOM Chamnan
Legal Officer,Arbitration Council Foundation


Chamnan is now working in the Arbitration Council Foundation as the Legal Officer, a position mainly involving with providing legal advice/ support to Arbitrators in the area of Labour Law. He possesses Bachelor of Law from Royal University of Law and Economics and Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Royal University of Phnom Penh.

Chamnan started his job in 1997 as a teacher of English and then Deputy Director of a private school in Phnom Penh. In 2003, he joints the US long-term international election observer as the interpreter/assistant and then moved to work as the Claim Agent at Indochine Insurance Company. After the company was liquidated, he moved to work as the Advocacy Officer at LICADHO and then the Information and Legal Officer at the Cambodian Federation of Employers and Business Associations-CAMFEBA.

Kuysrorn was graduated in business administration from Royal University of Phnom Penh in year 2002. MAO Savin
Consultant, EMC.


As a Consultant within EMC Cambodia’s business consulting and private sector development advisory firm, Mr. Mao plays a key analytical and work-stream management role in EMC Cambodia’s projects. He has extensive project experience on EMC Cambodia’s work in the agriculture and agri-business sectors, as well as in the microfinance sector.

Prior to joining EMC Cambodia, Mr. Mao was with the British American Tobacco in Cambodia, in which capacity he played a key management role overseeing risk management, internal controls, treasury operations, and tax planning and compliance. In 2001, Mr. Mao co-founded the Cambodian Rural Development Team, a local non-government organization working with the poor to improve their livelihoods whilst conserving natural resources, an organization which he continues to serve as Financial Advisor and Board Director. In 2006, Mr. Mao co-founded the Conversation with Foreigners, a local English Language Training School with focus on understanding and conversation and taught by foreign volunteers from across the globe. It forms a unique model of learning and cultural exchange to raise money for the Cambodian Rural Development Team to contribute funding to support their core day-to-day operational activities. Mr. Mao takes an active role in the school as Chairman of the Board as well as Director of the School.

Mr. Mao holds a BBA (Accounting) from the Maharishi Vedic University in Cambodia, and is currently pursuing the Certified Public Accountant designation with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK).

HENG Sovathara

Sovathara has more than 10 year’s experiences in Sales Management. In 1992, he started his first job as a sales representative at Asia Pacific Brewery (Cambodia Representative Office) Co., Ltd. distributed Tiger Beer, ABC Stout, and Anchor Beer in Cambodia. He grown up to supervisory levels and continues to executive and sales manager. His ability to lead and manage a successful large group of 320 of Promotion Girls, 21 sales personnel, and 11 distributors has lead him to be an outstanding sales person in the entire company.

In 2002, he joint Nippon Paint (Cambodia) as a Sales and Marketing Manager. Under his 2 years supervision, sales volume was doubled. In mid 2004, Sovathara left Nippon Paint to start up his own business as Sole Agent for Cam-Paint Manufacturing in halt part of Phnom Penh. Again, he brings the success for his business as the best distributor for 2 consecutive years (2005-2006). Sovathara graduated MBA from Charles Sturt University, Australia. He is now also Local Business Consultant for Traidcraft (UK) and Association of Artisans Cambodia.

MITH Leakhena
Management Trainer/ Coach at MEDiCAM


Mith Leakhena got Bachelor Degree’s in Management from National Institute of Management, Phnom Penh, Cambodia in 2000, Master Degree’s in Business Administration from University Utara of Malaysia in 2003 and Doctor Degree’s in Management from Preston University, USA in 2005. Mith Leakena was professionally trained in marketing field by Tenessee State University, Nashville, TN U.S.A, USDA /UNCF in 2003. Furthermore, she was equipped into logical knowledge of Business Consulting by Traidcraft and Artisan Association of Cambodia in 2007. To broaden her capacity wisely, she took a training course of Advance Training of Trainer with SILAKA to be a professional trainer.

Currently, Mith Leakhena is holding the position as a trainer for MEDiCAM NGO with holding main responsibilities of preparing Training Assessment Needs?TANs? for local NGOs; conducting training courses such as Strategic Planning, Human Resource Management, Project Planning and so fourth. Due to her reliable capacities and being high patient, she has been selected to be an incumbent of a part-time management and marketing lecturer for six years for some officially-recognized universities in Cambodia. At the same time, she is employed as a part-time local business consultant for Traidcraft and Artisan Association of Cambodia?AAC? to be mainly responsible for developing technical expertise, marketing access issues and business development assistance as a part of the sustainable trade for social enterprises project.
